The Encounter Program at Shoresh was created to enhance the curriculum by providing additional topics for the students to explore in an interactive lecture series. The lectures relate to themes and concepts in the curriculum and within Jewish values in general. Lecturers are invited from the local Greater Washington community, which enhances our students' participation and connection to their communities and its issues. Past topics have included BDS, Israeli Elections, and programs which have addressed how Jewish values work in the community. We have welcomed speakers from the Jewish Community Relations Council, local non profit programs, and the Jewish Federation's Shaliach Program.
Encounter Programs are held twice per Term, on Open House nights, so that prospective students and families can gain a full understanding of what Shoresh offers.
