Mission: Shoresh builds a strong foundation for students to become critical thinkers about their Jewish heritage, to find a sense of shared community and destiny among all Jews, and to meet the challenges of American Jewish life.
Shoresh’s Core Values include:
Model Klal Yisrael/Jewish pluralism. Shoresh is a community-based supplemental Jewish High School. We serve Jewish students and families from all different denominations, backgrounds, and ability levels. We model respectful interactions and inclusion amongst our Shoresh community members.
Build core Jewish literacy skills. The goal of the Shoresh curriculum is to expose students to the classical texts of the Jewish tradition, to review Jewish history in its broadest outlines from Biblical times to the present, and to foster critical thinking about Jewish law and ethics. Through our special programs, we also highlight current events and cultural, interactive learning opportunities.
Foster meaningful relationships with peers and adults. Students stay together year after year, developing close relationships with one another and with teachers through dialogue and interaction as they study texts.
Shoresh Hebrew High School is a 501 (c) 3 organization. Shoresh Hebrew High School admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
